The First Annual International Parliament* of Night Owls

The first International Parliament of Night Owls will be held in Saskatoon, Canada, June 2 - 4, 2006 at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel. The Parliament will open with a Meet & Great Reception on the evening of June 2. Sessions on specific topics will take place on June 3. A Special Meeting of the Night Owl Network will take place on the morning of June 4. A Scientific Forum is also planned for the afternoon of June 2. Program details and Registration forms will follow in January.

This will be the first such gathering of night owls in the world. The primary purpose is to bring night owls together to share experiences and learn about strategies for living in an early bird world. Night owls will leave this parliament healthier, happier and with a greater confidence as night owls.

One component of the parliament will be presentations and discussion groups on a variety of issues of significance to night owls. Another component of the parliament will be research. The plan is to have researchers present some of the latest research regarding night owl behavior and participants may be able to contribute to some of this research as well.

And finally, plan to have fun. There will be many opportunities to meet and socialize with other night owls. In fact, you may not care about the program at all and may simply wish to come and meet and visit with other night owls.

ABC - TV is Seeking a Night Owl family for it's TV show 'Wife Swap'
I am a casting producer for ABC Television's hit reality show, Wife Swap. We are looking for Night Owls, Children of the Night, third shift workers, All-Nighters, insomniacs, Midnight Riders and people who just can't "Do" Day Shift, a family that would rather sleep during the day and work or stay up throughout the night. It should be more than just a fun thing to do, it should be a way of life. Everyone in the family should have this passion in their lives.

In case you are unfamiliar with the show, the premise of Wife Swap is to take two different families and have the mom's switch place to experience how another family lives. Half of the week, mom lives the life of the family she is staying with. Then she introduces a "rule change" where she implements rules and activities that her family has. Each family should consist of two parents and at least one child over the age of five and should reside in the continental U.S. It's a positive experience for people to not only learn but teach other families other ways of life.

Wife Swap airs on Disney owned ABC television on Mondays at 8 pm (the family hour)- which was on before Monday Night Football! There is another show that copies ours. We focus on having fun, learning and teaching. They focus on conflict. I just want to make sure our show doesn't get confused with theirs!

This is a very unique experience that can be life changing for everyone. In addition, each family that tapes an episode of Wife Swap receives $20,000 as compensation for their time. Anyone who refers a family that appears on our program receives $1000 as a 'thank you" from us.
